Frontera Produce Expands Guatemalan Melon Program
EDINBURG, TEXAS -- November 1, 2006
Frontera Produce, LTD is excited to announce the arrival of their Guatemalan melons which will begin shipping in the last week of November to retailers and wholesalers throughout the U.S. and will commence in May.
Currently estimated to exceed last year’s volume by 35%, the expanded program will have weekly, uninterrupted arrivals into the Port of Corpus Christi. “We are thrilled to resume our Guatemalan melon program for a second season. We feel confident that the hard work weve put into enhancing the program this year will prove to be an added value to our customers”, said Will Steele, Vice President.
In a constant quest to provide a total solution to their customers, Frontera Produce opened its Florida import office in the fall of 2004 and has since experienced steady growth. The company imports mangos from Brazil, Ecuador, Peru, and Guatemala; Sweet Onions from Peru; and is in its second season with off shore cantaloupe and honeydew. With the success of this addition to their import program, Frontera is able to provide high-quality melons, on a consistent year-round basis.
