Cantaloupes are one of the most popular melons consumed in the United States. Grown in Texas, Arizona, California and Colorado, the juicy fruit of the cantaloupe peaks during the spring and summer months.
Grown locally in Texas during the spring and in Colorado during the summer months, Frontera Produce has the peak of the cantaloupe selling season covered to meet our customer's needs. The Colorado crop, commonly known as "Rocky Ford Cantaloupe," is one of the highly anticipated locally grown produce items of the summer months in certain parts of the United States.

When selecting cantaloupe, choose a sturdy, round and fragrant fruit. The melon should be tan-yellow in color beneath the web-like pattern on the rind. Cantaloupe does not ripen after is has been picked so choose a cantaloupe that yields slight to gentle pressure at the stem end.
